The soul alone is the guru existing in all living beings. One whose soul has fully manifested becomes the guru.

The soul is the Guru
As long as we are not conscious of the soul withing , the real guru, we shoul follow a teacher who has realized the presence of the soul. That is why Lahiri Mahasaya says that someone whose soul is full manifest becomes the guru.
Enquanto nós não somos conscientes da alma dentro de nós, o real guru ,nós devemos seguir um mestre que realizou a presença da alma. É por isso que Lahiri Mahasaya diz que alguém cuja alma se manifesta plenamente torna-se o guru.
But how do we recognize the full manifestation of the soul?
In our lifes , we can easily see anger , ego, jealousy, greed , fear and other negative qualities manifesting one after the other.
Mas como podemos reconhecer a plena manifestação da alma?
Em nossas vidas, podemos facilmente ver a raiva, o ego, o ciúme, avareza, medo e outras qualidades negativas manifestando uma após a outra.
On the other hand , when the soul manifests , love peace, kindness, compassion, harmony, joy, forgiveness and immortality , naturally manifest in daily life.
Por outro lado, quando a alma se manifesta, amor, paz, bondade, compaixão, harmonia, alegria, perdão e imortalidade, se manifestar naturalmente na vida cotidiana.
A person who is established in these good qualities from regular prayer and meditation , can be our guru and guide.
Uma pessoa que está estabelecida nestas boas qualidades da oração e da meditação regular, pode ser o nosso guru e guia.
But how long we need the help of a guru or guide?
The guru is like a burning lamp where the soul fire has manifest. Once that lamp has kindled the flame in us, we become lamps as well.

O guru é como uma lâmpada ardente onde o fogo da alma é manifesto. Uma vez que a lâmpada acendeu a chama em nós, tornamo-nos candeeiros também.
We only need to keep the flame burning continuously. A real guru helps a student realize the indwelling guru in everyone.
Nós só precisamos manter a chama acesa continuamente. Um guru real ajuda a um aluno perceber o guru habita em todos nós.
Someone who has become a doctor is a doctor forever. Similarly , a Self-realized master helps others realize the eternal soul withing is always guiding us and is the real guru.
Alguém que se tornou um médico é um médico sempre. Da mesma forma, um mestre auto-realizado ajuda os outros a perceber a alma eterna dentro e estar sempre nos guiando e este é o verdadeiro guru.

ekamapyãksharam yastu
guruh sisyãt prabhodhayet
prthivam nãstri tat dravyam
yat dattvã arnim bhavet
(Even) the knowledge of one letter imparted to the sishya ( disciple) by the guru ( teacher, divine master) is invaluable, and there is nothing in the whole world than repay this debt.(94)(Mesmo) o conhecimento transmitido através de uma carta ao sishya (discípulo) pelo guru (professor, mestre divino) é de valor inestimável, e não há nada no mundo inteiro do que possa pagar essa dívida (94).
The guru is the mouthpiece of spiritual wisdom, which he transmits to a befitting student.
O guru é o porta-voz da sabedoria espiritual, que ele transmite ao aluno que tem merecimento.
Sincere disciples, who are ready to transform their life through self-discipline and dedicated service, will gain unlimited spiritual treasure.

Another meaning of ekamapyakshara - even one letter- is described in the Gita ( 8:19), "The single syllable Om is the source of all knowledge, and the symbol of God"

Within all yogic and tantric practices , the guru teaches his disciples to understand the significance of the primordial sound Om and to listen to it continuously, while immersed in deep meditation.

In the scriptures is a description of five types of debts that each individual should strive to repay:

Rshi runa: debit to the masters,

Pitru runa : debts to the parents,

Nru runa: debits to humanity.

Bhuta runa : debt to creation as a whole.

Five offerings or activities help to redeem such debt:

Deva yajna: Ofering oblations to God

Brahma yajna : Imparting spiritual knowledge to worthy seeckers,
transmissão de conhecimento espiritual para seguidores dignos,
Pitru yajna Rendering tribute to departed family members,
render tributo aos membros falecidos da família
Nru yajna athiti seva : Serving the needs of our fellow human beings,
Atender às necessidades dos seres humanos como nós
Bhuta yajna Preserving ecologycal balance by protecting animais and environment.
Preservar o equilíbrio ecológico protegendo os animais e o meio ambiente
It is harder to repay the immense debt that disciples have with their guru than any of those listed above. If a dedicated disciple reaches the goal of Self-realization, the debt to the guru actually increases.
É mais difícil pagar a imensa dívida que os discípulo têm com seu guru do que qualquer um dos listados acima. Se um discípulo dedicado atinge a meta da auto-realização, a dívida com o guru na verdade aumenta.
Service to God and gurus must always be performed with the utmost humility and love.
O Serviço a Deus e gurus sempre deve ser realizado com muita humildade e amor.
